FINAL AMENDMENTS AND CORRECTING MISTAKES
By having time to look freshly back at the final products of my AS coursework I have been able to reflect on what was successful and unsuccessful. I noticed quite a few significant mistakes on all three of my products which I felt I could easily amend to improve the overall appearance of the magazine. However before making extra amendments I realised that I had published the wrong final product of the front cover, and instead had published a draft copy. This meant that my front cover was not the most up to date version I had created which I have instantly changed. I then spoke to my peers and teachers around me and asked for their advice on what they would personally change about my magazine, which I have taken on board and acted upon.
Front Cover:
The only criticism I received (apart from uploading the wrong copy of the finished product) was that the black box used to make the pull quote stand out was too harsh and jarring. I still wanted to put something behind the text to attract the readers attention and to add extra edginess to the cover. Using a paint stroke image taken from Google I removed the pieces of white using the 'Magic Wand Tool' to make the stroke looks as realistic as possible. I then manipulated the colour of the image making it the same shade of blue as the main headline, continuing the colour scheme. I finally layered the text back over the top finishing the design of my front cover. I now feel my front cover looks more consistent and fluent due to making more use of the colours within my chosen palette rather than applying random block colours.
Contents Page:
When asking my peers and teachers for feedback both groups agreed that the masthead 'CONTENTS' was slightly unclear to read making it appear 'slightly blurry' and of a low quality. To overcome this criticism I edited the font by adding 'Strokes' to each individual letter which added extra thicknesses by bordering each letter. I chose to use white as I thought this would contrast the best against the black background as well as complementing the red and continuing my colour scheme. Now, the masthead can be read very easily from a distance and close-up in addition to it appearing very sleek and clean.
Double Page Spread:
I faced similar criticism on the presentation of the main article text which some of my peers and teachers found to be difficult to read. This is because the background features a mixture of white, grey and black shades in which I found it difficult to decide on a neutral colour for the text. I originally decided with black as this was the least common colour in the background in addition to appearing the most dominating. However to overcome this criticism I have changed the colour of the text to white and again added black strokes under the text creating an outline around each letter. This has now made the text incredibly easy to read as it projects off the page due to its new bold style and added retro edge.

FINAL FEEDBACK
I wanted to gain some final feedback on what people thought of three finished products generally. I used Facebook again after receiving a positive response last time. I asked three questions which I honestly wanted to know the answers to, here is the responses I received...
