MY TARGET AUDIENCE

My target audience will be men and women between the ages of 15 and 30. Even though this is quite a broad age range it means my magazine will attract a wide range of ages. The magazine will be designed for those of a younger generation as I will include articles that stereotypically only younger people will want to read about such as Arctic Monkeys and Jake Bugg. I chose 15 yrs old to be the youngest as if I use colourful language then the magazine will be inappropriate for anyone younger than that. I chose 30 to be the maximum age as I feel people over that age are less likely to read a music magazine, they would probably buy something more informative like a newspaper.
To make my magazine attractive for both genders I will include a range of articles that will interest women or men or both. It also means the colour scheme must be unisex and not just consist of colours that connote men or females.
My audience will be a niche audience as they will have specific requirements and needs that my product should give them. I want my product to be published by TimesInc (IPC Media) as they already publish similar products (NME Magazine) therefore they will know my target audience.
Whilst designing my product I will gain feedback via text message and social media to gain their personal opinions e.g. font styles or competition ideas. This will give me direct feedback from my target audience so I know what they like as they are the ones who be hopefully be buying the finished outcome.
All text will be written informally which will attract my audience as they will be able to read it very easily. This will make the tone very friendly and conversational giving a relationship between the writer and reader. Therefore younger audiences will feel comfortable reading the magazine as it will be suitable for their age group because it will be like reading a conversation between one of their friends. 
I make to make my product relatable and recognizable for my audience so they feel they are reading something not out of their depth. This means the magazine must be a affordable price, be filled with quality content, include relatable articles and images.
